Ambagaswewa river bunt restored by 4U

Matale and Kandy 4U club members teamed up on the 24-25th of November to carry out reconstruction work of the Ambagaswewa river bunt located in the Knuckles range conservation area. The youth who implemented the work were extremely enthusiastic about what they accomplished together as a team and pledged to commit similar projects with more concern on environmental conservation.

Their joint efforts paid off when some wild animals began coming to drink water at the newly restored area. Accumulation of water from an upper elevation came flowing downhill as a result of the reconstruction. It was a wonderful opportunity for the youth to appreciate the wonders of nature and a reason as well to be more concerned about it’s conservation.

With this activity, the youth established a good rapport with wildlife officials and gained a good experience in the importance of working together as a team for a productive cause.
